In the heart of the Kopargaon Bet area lies a captivating duo of temples – Guru Shukracharya and Kacheshvara. Situated along the serene banks of the River Godavari, these ancient temples hold a rich history that is as enthralling as it is intriguing. Once a part of the dense Dandakaranya forests, the Bet region witnessed the River Godavari gracefully winding its way westward. It was here that Guru Shukracharya chose the southern bank as his dwelling, while his disciples resided on the northern bank.
Guru Shukracharya travelled thousands of miles in search of the perfect setting for Siddhata of the Sanjivani Mantra. Taking into account latitude and longitude, a significant angle of 19.5° is formed at the point where the equatorial line intersects. This latitude holds astronomical significance as it represents the location where the sun’s rays perpendicular to the Earth are exceptionally energetic and potent. Furthermore, at 19.5° latitude, the influence of the sun’s light remains constant during both Dakshinaayan and Uttarayan, irrespective of the varying intensity of light. It has been scientifically proven that this specific latitude holds greater force, strength, and gravitational energy on not just Earth, but all the planets in the solar system. At latitude 19.5° and longitude 74.32°, a place of tremendous cosmic importance manifests both on Earth and in the broaderuniverse. Surprisingly, this exact geographical location aligns with Kopargaon and its surrounding 15 km area in Nagar district of Maharashtra,(India). i.e, “The geographical angle of 19.5° latitude and 74.32° longitude is Kopargaon, where Guru Shukracharya’s temple is situated today.” Archaeological records have long attested to the presence of Rishi Shukracharya’s temple in Kopargaon. It stands as a site resonating with maximum energy and power, carefully chosen by Guru Shukracharya himself. The auspiciousness of this place is further emphasized by the sunrise at five o’clock in the morning, coinciding with the sacred Brahma Muhurta. Guru Shukracharya a great astronomer in his own right, ventured to Kopargaon in pursuit of the profound significance of the 19.5° latitude. Drawing upon his immense intelligence and knowledge, he harnessed the power of a mantra that would enliven the soul in the form of Shiva. The unique interaction between the sun’s rays and the vibrations generated by the Sanjivani Mantra, chanted scientifically, resulted in a striking effect on the DNA of the deceased, granting it revival and new life.
In the tranquil precincts of the Guru Shukracharya Temple, the passage of time is marked by an array of vibrant and spiritually significant festivals that hold a deep place in the hearts of its devotees.
